2月11日，眾星閃耀的第61屆格萊美舉行，Childish Gambino憑著一曲《This is American》橫掃格萊美，不僅斬獲了最佳說唱演繹和最佳MV，還拿下了年度錄音作品和年度歌曲。而新晉鄉村歌手Kacey Musgraves也憑借一流創作和甜美唱腔獲得四項獎項，和Childish Gambino成為本次格萊美最大贏家。
緊隨其后的Lady Gaga獲得最佳流行歌手、流行組合/二人組和影視歌曲三項，不得不說《Shallow》真是好能打啊！而Lady Gaga的格萊美總數也達到九座，成為格萊美史上首位流行類獎項大滿貫的歌手。
除了Lady Gaga，Cardi B也在格萊美中創造了歷史，成為了第一個拿到格萊美最佳說唱專輯的女rapper，這也是她第一次獲得格萊美。
同樣是第一次獲得格萊美的啪姐Dua Lipa則斬獲了這次的最佳新人，她和St. Vincent聯手表演的《One Kiss + Masseduction》更是在這次格萊美上驚艷四座。
不過此次格萊美，Taylor Swift和Ariana Grande雙雙缺席，K. Dot和Drake拒絕表演，收獲四獎的Childish Gambino甚至也沒有出席，也是帶來了不小的遺憾。
