HK VOYAGES Cup GBA League 2024 & HK Handover Anniversary Sailing Parade
On June 26, 2024, the Greater Bay Area Public Welfare Sports Federation announced that it will hold the "Voyages Cup Greater Bay Area City League (Summer) 2024 and Celebration of the Handover Sailing Parade" from June 29 to July 1 at the HKVC Voyages International Sailing Club. This is a three-day major sailing event aimed at promoting sports exchange and public welfare cooperation among the cities in the Greater Bay Area.
The event is organized by the Voyages International Sailing Club, with The Chinese Manufacturers' Association (CMA) as a supporting organization, and X Social Group Ltd as the designated PR and publicity unit for the event. The sailing regatta will be held on June 29 and 30, while the celebration of the handover with a sailing parade will take place on July 1.
The "Qihang Cup Greater Bay Area City League" is another major sailing competition organized by the Greater Bay Area Public Welfare Sports Federation after the spring season event in 2024. This summer event has attracted elite sailors from 9 cities and 2 special administrative regions in the Greater Bay Area, including many national and even world champions.
"We are delighted to host the 'Voyages Cup Greater Bay Area City League (Summer) 2024' at the end of June and the beginning of July this year. This is not only an important platform for promoting sports exchange and public welfare cooperation among the cities in the Greater Bay Area, but also a step towards our vision of making Hong Kong the 'Sailing Capital of Asia'. Through sailing experiences and training, we hope to help more citizens recognize and love this sport. The celebration of the handover with the sailing parade on July 1 will also showcase the cultural charm of Hong Kong, allowing everyone to witness the development of this international metropolis. I believe this event will be a complete success," said Samuel Lam Hon Yuen, the committee member of the Voyages Sailing Cup.
During the event, citizens can not only watch the exciting sailing competitions, but also participate in the celebration of the handover with the sailing parade on July 1, witnessing the cultural charm of Hong Kong as an international metropolis.
