氣候變化、通貨膨脹、戰爭、社會分裂和不平等，這些緊迫的問題影響著我們的未來。然而，受這些未來結果影響最大的人，“孩子們”的聲音、意見和愿望，總是被忽視，不受重視。
德國超市Penny致力于探討社會議題，并為經常被忽視的人發聲。繼2021年《愿望》(the Wish)和2022年《裂痕》(the Rift)之后，Penny今年圣誕通過《孩子們》(the Kids)短片來傾聽兒童和年輕人的需求和愿望。
短片先是描述了孩子們在日常生活中遭遇的困境：女孩上芭蕾舞課的傷痛，男孩未經詢問被迫接受社交媒體的審視，社交媒體帶來的外貌焦慮和羞辱，父母對孩子的忽視等等。
接著由兒童合唱團演唱的歌曲 What about us 將劇情推向反轉，孩子們勇敢表達了他們的要求和愿望：女孩在舞臺上自由舞蹈，男孩將媽媽的手機扔進大海，露天海報上的模特被畫上肚腩，并寫下“Love your body”......最后孩子們一個個奔跑、聚集、舉起手來，表示“未來是我們的，請聽聽我們的聲音！”
短片中描述的困境來源于Penny自2015年開始的“F?rderpenny”倡議，100多個青年俱樂部和社會組織參與了該活動，并詢問了兒童和年輕人對未來的希望。片末也列舉了孩子們對大人、對父母的期望：“多笑笑”、“我們想要有足夠多的老師”、“在手機上少花點時間”......
